Research focus:
Members of the COMPUTATIONAL AND ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT research group focus on investigating and understanding the fundamental processes involved in the degradation of organic pollutants, as well as on the development and application of methods for their analysis. The group’s research activities integrate experimental methods with computational approaches and artificial intelligence methods.
Equipment:
- Shimadzu Nexera™ UFLC liquid chromatograph equipped with a diode-array detector (UV/VIS), fluorescence detector, and conductivity detector
- T80+ UV/VIS spectrophotometer
- ANDRONA SIA Crystal EX ultrapure water purification system
- Workstation equipped with software for molecular modelling

Other:
Members of the research group have published more than 250 scientific papers in international journals and have participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences. They are also actively involved as reviewers for international scientific journals and research projects, as well as in science communication and outreach through popular science lectures.
A significant number of BSc and MSc theses have been completed within the research group in the fields of analytical chemistry, photodegradation of biologically active compounds, and molecular modelling. Two PhD theses have been successfully defended, while PhD students continue to be actively involved in research within the group’s areas of expertise.
Particular emphasis is placed on involving students at all levels of study in scientific research and providing them with the skills required for independent research. The group is open to establishing and developing new forms of collaboration with research groups and institutions both nationally and internationally.
