The Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection Groups conducts educational and scientific activities related to the field of chemistry and environmental protection.

 Educational activities:

  • Teaching activities take place through compulsory and elective subjects, in undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree programs for students in the fields of Chemistry and Environmental Protection.
  • Educating the general population about problems and solutions in the environment
  • Continuing professional development (CPD) courses in the field of environmental protection at the “Water workshop” – School of Environmental Protection – which is held every September since 1997, and brings together a large number of experts in science and industry who deal with water quality from various aspects, and for which an accompanying text book is regularly published.

Scientific activities take place in the field of chemical technology and environmental protection, with a special focus on solving the problem of pollution of aquatic ecosystems, as well as water treatment.

So far, the members of the Group have participated in the realization of a large number of scientific and professional projects, including more than 20 international projects from the programs: FP5, FP6, EUREKA, COST, IPA, TEMPUS, ERASMUS +, Bilateral projects and HORIZON2020. As a result of the work carried out during these projects, members of the Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection Group have published over 200 papers in journals in the SCI list and more than 500 papers at national and international conferences.

Cooperation with local industry is a significant segment of the work of the Group and is realized through:

  • consulting services – we provide expert support in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Studies; preparation of Feasibility Studies; obtaining integrated permits in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Republic of Serbia (IPPC); remediation of contaminated sites; reaching ELV for wastewater; drinking water, wastewater and waste treatments.
  • Laboratory for chemical environmental testing “Dr. Milena Dalmacija” – a modern laboratory for the analysis of environmental samples accredited according to standard SRPS ISO / IEC 17025: 2017.

Members of the group are founders of the “Assistant Professor Dr. Milena Dalmacija Foundation” and the Association for the Improvement and Protection of the Environment, and are active members of international and national associations and organizations, such as the International Water Association (IWA – International water association), Serbian Chemical Society, Serbian Water Protection Association, Water Protection and Sanitary Engineering Association.
