Within the Chair of Organic Chemistry there are two scientific-research groups, engaged in organic and medicinal chemistry, primarily synthesis of modified steroid derivatives:

  1. Synthesis and biological investigation of steroid hormone derivatives
  2. Synthesis and testing of bile acid derivatives.

Research groups activity is realized through a number of international and national projects.

  1. Novel steroid derivatives for anticancer drug development, bilateral cooperation project between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Austria, project number: 337-00-577/2021-09/27; project duration 2022-2024. Project leader: dr. Marina Savić
  2. Research Cooperation of the University of Szeged and the University of Novi Sad in Development of Anticancer Drug Compounds, (IPA: HUSRB/1002/214/133). The project is financed by the EU in the frame of the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation program. Project duration: 2012-2014. Project leader: Dr Marija Sakač
  3. Bile Acid Nanosystems as Molecule Carriers in Pharmaceutical Applications, (HUSRB/1002/214/193). The project is financed by the EU in the frame of the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation program. Project duration: 2011-2013. Project leader: Prof. Dr Janoš Čanadi
  4. Synthesis of Organic Compounds and Chemical Transformations of Some Natural Products. Physico-Chemical Characteristics and Biological Activity of the selected Compounds. The project is financed by EEC, SIZNR SAPV, Brisel-Novi Sad, Project duration: 1986-1990. Project leader: Dr Dušan Miljković
