Research focus

The group deals with analytics and the development of efficient, green, and sustainable methods for removal of pesticides, pharmaceutically active components, and mycotoxins. Great attention is paid to the optimization of environmentally acceptable advanced oxidation processes for the removal of biologically active pollutants from drinking, surface and wastewater. The degradation efficiency of selected pesticides, pharmaceutically active components (antidepressants, antibiotics, endocrine disruptors, and centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant), and mycotoxins is the interest of our research group. Also, the synthesis of nanomaterials with improved photocatalytic activity is one of the objectives of this team. Moreover, the development of the most modern, “reagent-free, waste-free” technologies by novel “green” phyto-based photocatalysts is our goal too.
