Members of LAFIB are awarded with numerous recognised national and international awards and acknowledgements:

2018:

Nenad M. Kostić Foundation Award for best MSc Thesis in the field of chemistry

Nenad M. Kostić Foundation for Chemical Sciences awards the best BSc and MSc Thesis from all fields of pure and applied chemistry defended at all Universities in Serbia. Among 14 thesis defended from April 1st 2017 to March 31st 2018, Ksenija Dobrokes was awarded first place for her MSc Thesis “The effects of Merlot wines on prostaglandin E2 and thromboxane A2 production in human leukemic U937 macrophages “ (supervisor Dr Ivana Beara). This prize is awarded every year to one awardee.

Lifetime Achievement Award for Prof. Neda Mimica-Dukić

Full Professor Neda Mimica-Dukić received the Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of sciences awarded by the Association of University Professors and Scientists of Vojvodina for 2017. This award is granted every year.

Year 2016:

“L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science National Fellowships

Dr. Marija Lesjak is the winner of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science National Fellowship for 2016. The national fellowship program in Serbia is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO and L'Oréal Balkan. Marija Lesjak was awarded a fellowship for her original scientific project in the field of natural sciences - The influence of polyphenols on the absorption of iron.

Dr. Marija Lesjak is the winner of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science National Fellowship for 2016.



“Start Up for Science” Scholarship

Dr. Marija Lesjak is the winner of the "Start Up for Science" scholarship for 2016. The scholarship is awarded by the Leadership Development Center from Serbia with the financial support of Philip Morris Operations a.d. Niš. Marija Lesjak received this award for her original scientific project in the field of medical and natural sciences "Are polyphenols inhibitors of iron absorption?", and contribution to the development of science in Serbia.

Dr. Marija Lesjak is the winner of the Start Up for Science scholarship for 2016.

Year 2015:

Award for the best young scientist at the Faculty of Sciences University of Novi Sad

Dr. Marija Lesjak is the winner of the Award for the Best Young Scientist at the Faculty of Sciences University of Novi Sad, Serbia, for 2015. The award is given by Faculty of Sciences University of Novi Sad for outstanding results in the field of science and research.

“Dr Zoran Đinđić“ Award for the best young scientists and researchers from Vojvodina region

Dr. Dejan Orčić won the prestigious “Dr Zoran Đinđić“ award for the best young scientist and researcher in Vojvodina region for 2014. This prestigious award is awarded by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for exceptional achievements in the field of science and research. This prize is awarded every year.

Year 2013:

CheckMark Ger van Meel Foundation Thesis Award in the field of chemical sciences

CheckMark Ger van Meel Foundation awards the best BSc and MSc Thesis in the field of chemical sciences defended at the universities in Serbia. Filip Šibul won second place in the competition of BSc and MSc thesis defended during 2012, for his MSc thesis: “Polygonum species extracts as eicosanoids biosynthesis inhibitors“. This prize is awarded every year.

Nenad M. Kostić Foundation for Chemical Sciences awards the best BSc and MSc Thesis from all fields of pure and applied chemistry defended at the universities in Serbia. Among 11 thesis defended from April 1st 2011 to March 31st 2012, Filip Šibul was awarded second place for his BSc Thesis “The influence of Rumex species extracts on arachidonic acid metabolites production“. This prize is awarded every year.

Dr. Willmar Schwabe Research Scholarship for Young Scientists

Dr Marija Lesjak was awarded the prestigious award “The Dr. Willmar Schwabe Research Scholarship for Young Scientists“ for the year 2011. The awarding institution is Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research. The aim of the Dr. Willmar Schwabe Research Scholarship is to support the young, promising researchers in their pharmacological or clinical research of phytopharmaceuticals and their active substances. The award is given once a year to only a single scientist in the whole world. dr Marija Lesjak got the award for her ground–breaking research on “Polyphenols effects on iron homeostasis“, which she conducted at University College London, UK.

Year 2010:

Award for the most citied young researcher in Vojvodina region

Dr. Nataša Simin was awarded the prestigious award for the “Most cited young researcher up to 35 year old in Vojvodina region“. This prestigious award for outstanding citation index in high-rated international scientific journals, based on the results from international databases Science Citation Index - Wos, is awarded by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. During evaluation process, citation index of all researchers from all scientific institutions in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina is analyzed. This prize is awarded every five years.
